The OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) has published a Guidance on “Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Development Co-operation” in 2009. The OECD considers to extent this more generic guidance with another series of more specific ones, including water. FutureWater has supported the OECD in drafting the outline and pathway to develop this so called “Guidance on Water and Climate”.

FutureWater developed a Discussion Note that was used to support the OECD meeting in Amsterdam on October 12th, 2010. The Discussion Note was presented by Peter Droogers and Margje Soet during the meeting. The Note was received very well and will be used subsequently by various OECD Technical Committees to decide in what form the Water Guidance will be developed further.
